Dental braces are dental appliances used to correct crowded, and misaligned teeth or jaws to create an even bite and improve the smile. Braces can also help improve the long-term health of your teeth and gums and make eating more comfortable. Braces come in several options, including traditional metal braces, tooth-colored or clear ceramic, lingual braces that are placed on the inside of the teeth making them virtually invisible, and Invisalign® clear aligners. On average, most people wear full braces for one to three years. After the braces are removed, patients wear a custom-made retainer which may be worn indefinitely to ensure that the final results remain stable. Below we dive into the cost of braces, if insurance covers the appliances and how braces financing can help.
