Did you know that in the 2024 Hearing Health and Loss Prevention Study conducted by Synchrony, 1 in 5 people surveyed notice potential signs of hearing loss, but waits on average 2.5 years before addressing hearing loss?1 While 70% of people surveyed consider their hearing a priority, only 10% have actually visited an audiologist or other hearing health professional in the past year. And just 53% would be likely to have regular checkups with a hearing specialist in order to preserve their hearing.1

The online hearing test below can help you identify if you may be experiencing signs of hearing loss so you can take action and prioritize your hearing health.

How This Online Hearing Test Works

This hearing test checks your ability to hear different speech tones — from low to high. It also assesses if you can pick up sounds even when there’s background noise, which can be challenging even for people without hearing loss.

This evaluation is not a substitute for a professional evaluation or medical diagnosis, however, the results can help give you a look at where your hearing may stand. (Please consult a hearing care professional for a comprehensive evaluation.)

How to prepare for the test

  • Find a quiet spot — somewhere with as little background noise as possible.
  • Grab your headphones and your electronic device, and turn the volume all the way up.
  • Give your headphones a quick test to make sure everything’s working right.
